James Roe came to St. Charles County in 1965 as an engineer with the Mc Donnell Aircraft Company. He has lived in St. Charles, St. Paul, Lake Saint Louis and currently lives in Wentzville.
He has been an amateur astronomer since 1962. It is fair to say he is an ‘advanced’ amateur having built telescopes from scratch, completed many personal observing programs, served as presiding officer of the Mc Donnell Astronomy Club and the Mid-States Region of the Astronomical League, and conducted professional-grade observing programs in asteroid science. He has over 100 asteroid discoveries to his credit and is in the top 100 discoverers of asteroids for all time. He is an Astronomy Merit Badge Counselor and has led an Astronomy Explorer Post for the Boy Scouts of America.

Yvonne Roe came to St. Charles County in 1974 and has lived in Lake Saint Louis and (now) Wentzville. She is a licensed real estate broker and has been doing real estate since 1979. She was an alderman and President of the Lake Saint Louis Board of Aldermen and was Vice-President of the St. Charles County Industrial Development Board.
James and Yvonne served for 9 years as Volunteers for the Division of Global Mission of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America assigned to Oaxaca, Mexico where they worked on rural development.

Jim Twellman has worked for Conoco (now Conoco Phillips) since 1981. Since 1999 he has worked in sales and is proficient at talking to people, and organizing and preparing sales materials.
He describes himself as an armchair astronomer. He enjoys showing folks the vistas through a telescope, and giving short lectures to school children. Other hobbies include basketball and following his kids sports activities. He and his wife Kathy have 3 children attending Wentzville Schools.

Erika Gibb is a professional astronomer who relocated to St. Charles County with her husband in 2005. She is currently a Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Missouri, St. Louis. Her hobbies include crafts, reading, and she is an avid gardener.
